The Book Bandy Project at George Washington Elementary School

Katie Zimmermann from Senior Girl Scout Troop 40851 with Dr. Festante and George Washington students participating in the Book Bandy.

 

The Book Bandy project was designed to encourage students to read and foster a love of books. George Washington School received a donation of over 700 books from the Book Bandy Project. Students will meet monthly to share their reading experience.

10/6 “Respect Yourself, Dress to Impress”

As part of our George Washington’s character education program, students dressed up for success. The goal was to instill respect within themselves and to promote career awareness.

10/6 “Together Everyone Achieves More”

Athletes from Kean University, Rutgers University and Hillside High School visited our students to talk about TEAM building and to discuss good citizenship/sportsmanship which served to highlight George Washington’s motto, “TEAM - Together Everyone Achieves More.”

 

 

 

 

10/14 “George Washington’s 4th Annual Hillside Food Bank Drive”

          George Washington students kicked off our 4th Annual Hillside Food Bank Drive. Members from the Hillside Food Bank visited our school to promote awareness for community service.

10/5 “We Are Building Community Relations”

George Washington students were visited by local police enforcement to foster positive relations between law enforcement and the community.
