How to retrieve email from location using a browser (Internet Explorer, Netscape, Firefox)

Printer-Friendly Format

District E-mail can be accessed from any computer with Internet access in district or remotely.

The following steps will guide you through accessing your e-mail remotely:

  1. Open up your web browser (i.e. Internet Explorer, Netscape) Note: Firefox works inconsistently.
  2. In the Address bar type in http://mailowa.hillsidek12.org

The following dialog box should appear:

Password should always be at least five alphanumeric characters. (A-Z, 0-9). If you are unsure of your password or have never logged in before and do not know what your password is, please contact the Technology Department at Ext, 8475, 8476, or 8477.

    Note: NEVER share your password.

    NOTE:
DO NOT use, "Save this password in you password list". This is like sharing your password with everyone. If anyone uses the computer that you just used to access e-mail, they can use the pull down menu next to the address bar and they now have access to your e-mail.

  3. Once you type in your User Name, Password and Domain name then click OK.

After you have successfully logged on, your mailbox will come up and appear like the following image:

The global address book is only available to find names. It can not be used to add names to the "To" section of an e-mail.
