Mr. Brellochs is in charge of the instrumental music department at the high school. This includes classes like Concert Band, Piano I & II, and A.P. Music Theory. As musical director, Mr. Brellochs also coaches Jazz Band after-school.

Mr. Brellochs' education includes a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Studies from Ithaca College and a Master of Arts in Music Performance from New York University. He is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Music at The Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University. As a jazz saxophonist his career includes performances in both Germany and the New York City metropolitan area with engagements at noted jazz clubs like Birdland. As a classical saxophonist he leads his own saxophone trio and quartet and has performed as a soloist on Mussorgsky's "Pictures at an Exhibition" with the Rutgers Orchestra at Carnegie Hall. He has been an active educator for over 14 years, teaching as an adjunct professor at Kean University, New Jersey City University, and Housatonic Community College as well as a faculty member at the Hartwick College Summer Music Festival & Institute and Encore Music Camp. Mr. Brellochs began teaching at Hillside High School in the 2000-2001 academic year.
