Goal: To provide leadership in the ongoing development and improvement of the instructional programs of the district.

To provide leadership in the development, implementation, and coordination of the district's Pre K to 12 curriculum in collaboration with the Director of Secondary Education and the Superintendent of Schools.


Curriculum:To guide the development, implementation, and evaluation of curriculum aligned with the NJ Core Curriculum Content Standards in each of the core areas outlined by the NJ Department of Education. (Mathematics, Language Arts Literacy, Science, Visual and Performing Arts, Health and Physical Education, Social Studies, World Language, Technological Literacy, Career Education, and Life Skills).

To articulate curricula between elementary and middle school grades.


Instruction:To include classroom visitations that provide ongoing monitoring and evaluation of the instructional program. To assess instructional programs in order to develop effective, district wide professional development/in-service programs.

To provide instructional orientation for new Pre-K to 6 teachers.

To collaborate with principals in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of effectiv programs of supervision and evaluation.

To provide guidance to school leadership teams in the selection and use of textbooks and instructional materials.

To assist in the recruiting, interviewing, screening, and recommending of qualified candidates for positions on the elementary school professional staff.


Assessment:To monitor skill areas and proficiencies for student achievement and success on state mandated and district assessments.

Parent/Community Relations:

To collaborate with parents/guardians to build confidence and engagement towards the development and acceleration of their child/ren's emotional, social, and academic growth.

Grants/Reports:

To prepare and submit State reports for Early Childhood, DEPA, No Child Left Behind, Character Education Grants.

To assist in the preparation of budgets for the Pre-K to 6 schools.
