Dear Parents and Guardians:

We are in the midst of cold and flu season. To promote a healthy school environment please follow the steps below:

If your child tells you he/she is not feeling well in the morning, please keep your child home.

  • Always keep your child home if an elevated temperature is present. A child should be fever free for a complete 24 hours (without the aid of Tylenol or Motrin) before returning to school.

  • A child should be free from vomiting and diarrhea for a complete 24 hours (without the aid of medicine) before returning to school.

  • If your child visits the doctor for an illness a doctor’s note should accompany the child when returning to school.

  • Remember the best defense against illness is frequent hand washing.

Thank you for your cooperation in keeping all of our children and staff at Hurden-Looker School healthy.

Sincerely

Merril Strachan
