Hillside Public Schools has partnered with the United Way of Greater Union County to provide employment and career planning services to twenty (20) Hillside High School students ages 14-21 years old. Students and parents must pre-register and meet eligibility requirements as defined by the Workforce Innovation Opportunity Act to participate. Services include:
Paid work experience
Job readiness training
Financial literacy training
Access to certification programs
Leadership development workshops
and much more . . .
According to Dr. Gayles, Superintendent of Schools, "This pilot is another first for our district that will provide our students with valuable work experiences, college and career readiness and 21st Century learning skills as a foundation for successful post-secondary experiences." Registration is still open and will close when all twenty (20) slots have been filled.
