The Hillside Public Schools Visual & Performing Arts Department is dedicated to inspiring creativity, self-expression, and artistic excellence in every student. Through meaningful experiences in visual art, music, theater, dance, and other creative disciplines, students are encouraged to explore their talents, develop their individual voices, and build confidence as artists, learners, and members of their community.

Our Visual & Performing Arts programs provide students with opportunities to create, perform, collaborate, and connect while developing skills that extend far beyond the classroom. Through engaging instruction, performances, exhibitions, and community experiences, we celebrate the creativity and diverse perspectives of our students while fostering a lifelong appreciation for the arts.

The mission of the Hillside Public Schools Visual & Performing Arts Department is to provide all students with equitable
access to high-quality arts education that nurtures creativity, artistic expression, collaboration, and personal growth. We strive to empower students to discover and develop their unique talents while building the confidence, discipline, critical-thinking skills, and cultural awareness necessary to succeed in school and beyond.
