Commissioner of Education Visits Hurden Looker Innovation Learning Lab “The H.I.L.L.”
Dr. Lamont Repollet, Commissioner of Education, visited the H.I.L.L. at Hurden Looker School on Tuesday, December 4th. The Innovation Learning Lab at Hurden Looker Elementary School, a no textbook zone, is a place where third- and fourth-graders can let their imaginations run wild through experimentation and discovery. It’s a place that harnesses student creativity and fuses it with STEAM – science, technology, engineering, art, and math.
Hurden Looker Principal, Mrs. Tracey Wolff , Supervisor of Science, Mrs. Lisa Corona and Mrs. Marta Tran, Hurden Looker Hillside Enrichment Program Teacher, were joined by School Board members, Principals and Administrators to observe the outstanding Hurden Looker students teaching the Commissioner coding, the intricacies of 3D printing, programming and navigating a sphero around a maze, connecting circuits and coding figures to dance at the H.I.L.L.
