Hurden Looker had a cyberbullying awareness /spreading kindness assembly on November 28th, 2023. Detective Greene from the Union County Prosecutor’s Office came out to Hurden Looker to share information with the students about what Cyberbullying is, and how we can prevent it from happening with our actions! Hurden Looker 5th and 6th grade students were challenged to spread kindness everywhere, even on social media.

@xtremedunks of the Xtreme Team came to W.O.K. Middle School today (11/17/2023)! They put on a spectacular show for W.O.K. and H.I.A. students who filled the gymnasium! The dunk show was organized for middle school students who successfully sold milestone numbers of candy earlier this school year. Shout out to Ms. Altenor at Ola Edwards Community School for sharing these photos! Students collaborated to test how different surfaces affect the speed and distance of a ball. Students created a kick system to simulate a soccer kick on different surfaces. They tested a golf ball's distance after a "kick" on sandpaper, carpet, and "wax-covered" carpet to replicate a soccer ball being rolled on concrete, grass, and a gym floor! Students chose which variables stayed the same vs. which ones changed. Great work Ms. Altenor, Science Department, and all of our teachers for continuously providing fun, interactive learning!
