On Wednesday, May 29th, the Walter O. Krumbiegel Band held a showcase and recruitment event for all 6th grade students. As our band continues to grow, we are seeking more students to join us on this exciting journey! At Deanna G. Taylor Academy, students began exploring how to use the Makey Makey! We are embarking on an exciting journey into the world of interactive electronics and creative problem-solving. The Makey Makey innovative kit empowers students to transform everyday objects into touchpads and integrate them with computer programs! Through hands-on experimentation, students develop skills in circuitry, programming, and design thinking. This is fostering a deeper understanding of STEM concepts and unleashing students' creative potential. Thursday, May 23, 2024, five students - Ashley Dos Santos (11), Brandon Guevara (12), Erick Malvarez Bentos (12), D’Antagnan Siddons (12), and Adriana Silva (12) - accompanied by HHS Vice Principal Rosalind Bartholomew and advisor Noreen Deutsch, attended the New Jersey State Board of Education Student Recognition Ceremony in Ewing, NJ where the Hillside High School Student Council was recognized for the positive and meaningful contributions they have made to the school and their community!
