On Thursday (February 20th, 2025), the Hillside High School Boys Varsity Basketball Team held their Senior Night game! During halftime, coaches, friends, and families celebrated all the seniors! Our Hillside Comets played Gateway Academy and won 71 - 46! Go Comets!

On Thursday, February 20th, 2025, Hillside Innovation Academy (H.I.A.) hosted its annual Black History Month Celebration! The H.I.A. Boardroom was packed with students, parents, staff, and families! The celebration included a Black History Month presentation by the Junior Rho Kappa National Social Studies Honor Society, dancing, singing, and poetry performances by our scholars! Ms. Therres and the Art scholars also provided artwork and presented Adinkra Printing! Thank you, Principal Dr. Silva, Ms. Dotel, Ms. Therres, Ms. Vazquez, Mr. Joyner, Mr. Harrison, Mr. Pantastico, all of the H.I.A. staff, and families!

Math & Literacy Night at A.P. Morris Early Childhood Center was a night to remember! Families engaged in hands-on activities aligned with NJSLS and explored fun ways to support learning at home. Using nine pieces of evidence about the fictional relationship between Hank and Bella, students worked together to synthesize information, make connections, and establish a strong line of reasoning—all essential skills for success on the exam! 🔗🔴 The red string served as a visual representation of how different pieces of evidence connect, helping students see the bigger picture in their arguments.

Fourth-grade students at Hurden Looker Elementary School learned and practiced conducting lighting, HVAC, and appliance audits after school! They recorded their data to determine if the classroom was over-lit or underlit, if it was too warm or too hot, and to see how much energy some appliances such as sharpeners use. Students explored the relationship between primary and secondary colors as they blended and separated them using a variety of techniques.
