Wednesday, May 29, 2024 Hillside High School Student Council (StuCo) attended the @NJASC Spring Awards Ceremony at Six Flags in Jackson, NJ! @hillsidestuco was awarded the Community Smile Award, in recognition of their work to improve the school community and beyond, and the State Charity Award, in recognition of their donation in the amount of $1,000 to the NJASC 2023 State Charity @HugsForBrady. In a bid to promote mental wellness among students, Melba Mullins, Hillside High School's Student Assistance Coordinator & the Counseling Department, successfully organized a transformative Mental Health Fair on May 30, 2024! Held in the serene ambiance of the high school Media Center, the event saw the active participation of various state and county agencies, each dedicated to presenting an array of mental health resources and engaging activities aimed at fostering relief and well-being among our students. Attendees were welcomed with engaging sessions of finger painting, coloring activities, and uplifting positive affirmations, thus creating a safe space for students to unwind, relax, and explore techniques for managing their emotional well-being. The tranquil atmosphere, combined with the enriching resources provided, made the Mental Health Fair a truly impactful and valuable experience for all participants! The Makey Makey innovative kit empowers students to transform everyday objects into touchpads and integrate them with computer programs!
