Hillside Public Schools staff and faculty filled the Hillside High School auditorium on the morning of January 3rd, 2024! Our Hillside professionals were treated to an astonishing presentation led by Mr. Abran Maldonado, leading Artificial Intelligence (A.I.) expert, ChatGPT, and OpenAI Ambassador! Mr. Maldonado introduced Hillside Public Schools staff to recent wonders in A.I. that can be utilized to revolutionize instruction within the classroom! Superintendent Glover delivered a motivational, inspiring speech before introducing Abran Maldonado to the stage. The Hillside Public Schools staff loved the presentation, it was the perfect way to commence the second half of the school year.

Joy, a, 2018 Hillside graduate, returned to her science classroom as a guest speaker. She is in a Master's Program at Walla Walla University after graduating with a bachelor's from Drew University. Joy spoke about the realities of undergraduate and graduate life and her amazing research with chipmunks and octopuses.

The W.O.K. Middle School Winter Concert got to be enjoyed not once, but twice! On December 19th, 2023, the W.O.K. chorus and band performed for their classmates and staff members. Last night, December 20th, 2023, our talented students dazzled the parents, and families of Hillside Public Schools! It was a "Super Holiday Giveaway" at A.P. Morris Early Childhood Center and Little Bears Daycare from December 20th - 21st, 2023! Superintendent Glover gifted presents and toys to A.P. Morris students and Little Bears children, with help from Hillside Public Schools staff! Toys were donated by @att pioneers, a non-profit national network of volunteers. Earlier today, December 20th, 2023, Hillside Public Schools Superintendent Glover, @keanuniversity President Gray, and Hillside Mayor Vertreese met at Hillside Town Hall. Hillside has collaborated with Kean University to launch a community literacy program designed to foster the love of reading, and support literacy throughout the town! "Book hubs will be located at the Hillside town hall, community recreation center, M&M Pizzeria, and the First Baptist Church. When families visit these locations, they will have the opportunity to read a book and then scan a QR code to answer questions about the book. Submission of the questionnaires will reward families with prizes and discounts to local businesses in our community! Kean University was generous enough to supply all the supplies, books, and materials for this program. Today was the official book hub delivery date! Thank you, President Gray, Superintendent Glover, the Hillside Board of Education, Mayor Vertreese, Mr. Anthony Salters, Ms. Victoria Gray, and the entire Hillside community for promoting the importance of reading and fostering the success of our children.
